Chardfm Environmental Services
Chardfm are developing the Chardfm environmental business in line with our green for a reason ethos and carbon choices initiative. We recognise that we have to fully integrate the waste management and recycling of the consumables we and our clients use to minimise the carbon impact of our service and our clients businesses.
In partnership with our approved supply chain partners we provide in-situ recycling stations within the facility for the employee’s to ‘self segregate’ the waste they produce. This ensures that no waste is sent to inappropriate landfill and that the maximum amount of waste is recycled. The waste stations are clearly marked and emptied regularly.
In addition to the in-situ waste service we provide a managed commercial waste collection service which regularly collects the on-site waste and sends it for recycling.
Chardfm environmental delivers an air hygiene testing regime which regularly test the quality of the air in the air handling systems. This information is recorded and analysed to look for deficiencies in the air handling plant, ducts and vents, it also test for incorrect humidity settings.
The air quality testing regime is complimented by the maintenance we undertake on the air handling systems which is designed to minimise the deterioration of air quality.
Chardfm environmental are making the right carbon choices and a demonstration of this is our two recycling initiatives.
Cooking Oil to Bio Diesel
Chardfm environmental provides a commercial cooking oil waste collection service in partnership with our approved supply chain partner, this removes from site the spent cooking oil which we convert to bio-diesel for fuel.
Food Waste to Compost
Chardfm environmental provides a commercial food waste collection service in partnership with GP Plantscape, this removes all food waste to their recycling facility where it is converted into compost for planting.

We co-ordinate all of our fm services in the knowledge that waste is an inevitable by-product, by pausing and thinking about how we deal with that waste we have minimised our carbon footprint. In fact by recycling so much of our own waste and that of our clients, we are working towards becoming a carbon negative business, in other words we take out less than we put back.
We are currently working toward accreditation for ISO 14001 which together with our Sustainability Policy and Carbon Choices initiative will ensure we make the right decisions from an environmental standpoint.
